Therapist – Child, Adolescent, & Families

Cary, North Carolina

Krippa Family Psychological & Wellness Services is seeking a therapist to join our Cary clinical team providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents, along with group therapy in our adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

We are looking for a clinician who genuinely enjoys working with young people and their families and wants to become a long-term part of an established, collaborative private practice.

This position offers a combination of traditional outpatient therapy and higher-level-of-care experience. Clinicians have the opportunity to build an individual caseload while also working with adolescents in our DBT-focused IOP, providing variety throughout the clinical week.

Our clinicians have the independence to develop their own therapeutic style and areas of expertise while having access to experienced colleagues for consultation and collaboration.

Administrative support allows clinicians to spend more of their time focused on providing excellent clinical care.

Apply for this position

About the position

This position combines outpatient clinical work with participation in our adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program. The clinician will provide individual and family therapy to children and adolescents while also facilitating therapeutic groups within our DBT-focused IOP.

The position is designed for a clinician who enjoys variety in their work and wants the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with clients and families across different levels of care.

In addition to maintaining an outpatient caseload, the therapist will collaborate with other members of the clinical team, participate in consultation as needed, and contribute to a supportive and engaging treatment environment for our adolescent clients.

What you will do

As a therapist on our Cary team, you will:

Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents

Provide family therapy and collaborate with parents and caregivers as clinically appropriate

Facilitate therapeutic groups within our adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

Incorporate DBT and other evidence-based and developmentally appropriate approaches based on client needs

Develop individualized treatment plans and maintain appropriate clinical documentation

Collaborate and consult with other members of the clinical team

Communicate with schools, physicians, and other treatment providers when clinically appropriate and authorized

Participate in ongoing professional development and opportunities to expand your clinical skills

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a clinician who is clinically thoughtful, dependable, and comfortable balancing independent work with collaboration and consultation.

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds a North Carolina clinical license as an LP, LPA, LMFT, LMFTA, LCMHC, or LCMHCA
  • Has experience working with children and adolescents
  • Is comfortable involving parents and families in treatment when clinically appropriate
  • Enjoys working with teens and can build authentic therapeutic relationships with young people
  • Is comfortable facilitating therapy groups or is interested in developing strong group therapy skills
  • Has experience or interest in DBT and working with adolescents who need a higher level of support
  • Is open to feedback, consultation, and continued professional development
  • Demonstrates good clinical judgment, professionalism, and reliability
  • Is interested in becoming a long-term member of our clinical team

Schedule & Caseload

This position includes both outpatient therapy and scheduled IOP group responsibilities. Because many of our child and adolescent clients are seen after school, afternoon and evening availability is an important part of this position.

Clinicians build an outpatient caseload of children, adolescents, adults, and families while also having designated time for IOP group therapy. We work with clinicians to develop a schedule that supports both the needs of our clients and a sustainable clinical workload.

Position Details & Compensation

This position requires approximately 25 clinical hours per week, including outpatient individual and family therapy and IOP group therapy. Afternoon and evening availability is required to accommodate children and adolescents.

Compensation ranges from $72–$100 per clinical hour, based on licensure, experience, and qualifications.
